SOMATIC BREATHWORK & EMBODIMENT IN BURLINGTON, ONTARIO  VIRTUAL SESSIONS ACROSS ONTARIO

Sometimes words aren’t enough.

Your body has a story, too.

Talk therapy can help us understand ourselves. Breathwork and embodiment invite us to experience ourselves. To listen beneath the words — to the sensations, emotions, and inner knowing that can be difficult to reach through thinking alone.

At Solstice, we bring together therapeutic insight and embodied practice to create space for deeper connection with yourself. Through conscious connected breathwork and gentle somatic exploration, you’re invited to slow down, turn inward, and meet what emerges with curiosity rather than judgment.

There is no right way to experience this work, and nothing you need to force. Every session is grounded in trauma-informed care, with an emphasis on safety, consent, choice, and integration.

A space to listen inward. A practice of coming home to yourself.

When Your Body Has Something to Say

You may understand yourself well. You may have spent time reflecting, talking, learning, and making sense of your experiences — and still feel like something is happening beneath the surface.

Maybe you spend a lot of time in your head. Maybe it's difficult to slow down, tune into what you're feeling, or know what you need. You might notice tension, restlessness, overwhelm, numbness, or a sense of disconnection from yourself.

Sometimes, understanding isn't the same as feeling. And words can only take us so far.

Our patterns are shaped not only by our thoughts, but by our emotions, bodies, nervous systems, relationships, and past experiences. Sometimes meaningful change involves moving beyond understanding a pattern intellectually and creating new experiences of safety, connection, choice, and self-trust.

Breathwork and embodied practices offer another way to listen. Through conscious breathing, mindful movement, and awareness of bodily sensation, we can begin to notice what's present, explore our inner experience, and develop a different relationship with ourselves.

You don't need to arrive with a particular goal or know exactly what you're looking for. You're invited to slow down, become curious, and meet yourself where you are.

An Invitation to Reconnect

Breathwork at Solstice is primarily rooted in a modality called Conscious Connected Breathwork. This intentional breathing practice invites you to slow down, turn inward, and connect more deeply with your body and inner experience.

Rather than working toward a particular outcome, the practice offers space for curiosity and awareness.

Your experience may include emotion, physical sensation, memories, insight, stillness, release, or a greater sense of presence. There is no right way to experience breathwork, and you don't need to force anything.

At Solstice, we offer breathwork with care, consent, and respect for your individual needs and nervous system. You remain an active participant throughout, with the freedom to adjust, pause, or stop the practice at any time.

Whether you’re exploring breathwork on its own or integrating it with psychotherapy, the invitation is the same:

Slow down. Breathe. Listen. Reconnect.

A Different Way of Listening

Breathwork offers another way to explore what lives within us — beyond words, analysis, and the stories we tell about ourselves.

Through intentional breathing, we can bring greater awareness to the body, emotions, nervous system, and experiences that may be difficult to access through conversation alone. Breathwork isn't about forcing a breakthrough or having a particular kind of experience. There is no single “right” way for it to feel.

At Solstice, breathwork may be offered as a standalone individual or group experience, or thoughtfully integrated into psychotherapy through our embodied therapy sessions. Each offering creates space to slow down, connect with the body, explore what is present, and make meaning of what emerges.

You may leave feeling more grounded, open, connected, reflective, or simply more aware. Your experience may be subtle, powerful, emotional, unexpected — or something in between.
The invitation is to breathe, listen, and meet yourself with curiosity rather than judgment.

Common Questions About Breathwork

What a Breathwork Session Might Look Like

Each session is an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and make space for whatever is asking for your attention. There is no right way to experience breathwork, and nothing you need to achieve, force, or get right.

Our approach brings together conscious connected breathwork, therapeutic support, and embodied awareness in a space that honours your individual needs, experiences, and pace.

Arrive & Settle In
We begin by slowing down and connecting with what's present for you. We'll explore how you're feeling, what you've been carrying, and anything you'd like to bring into the session. Together, we'll establish an intention, discuss what to expect, and make space for any questions or concerns.
There's no pressure to arrive with a clear intention. Sometimes, simply noticing how you are is a meaningful place to begin.

Breathe & Explore
With gentle guidance, music, and conscious connected breathing, you'll be invited to bring your attention to your breath and bodily experience.
As the session unfolds, you may notice physical sensations, emotions, memories, thoughts, or shifts in awareness. You might experience a sense of release, connection, stillness, or simply a deeper awareness of what's present. Every experience is different, and there is no particular outcome you need to reach.
Throughout the process, your experience, boundaries, and sense of choice remain central. You can adjust your breathing, pause, or return to your natural breath whenever you need.

Integrate & Make Meaning
After the breathing experience, we create space to rest, reflect, and gently explore what arose. With therapeutic support, we'll make room for your experience without rushing to interpret it or assign it a meaning.

We may explore the emotions, sensations, insights, or questions that surfaced, and consider how they connect with your everyday life, relationships, and patterns. You'll have space to find your own meaning and identify what, if anything, you'd like to carry forward.
Integration isn't about figuring everything out. It's about allowing your experience to settle and discovering what feels meaningful for you.

A Space to Meet Yourself
You don't need to know what you're looking for before you begin. You don't need to have a profound experience, release an emotion, or leave with a life-changing insight.
You simply need space to arrive as you are.
My role is to offer a grounded, compassionate, and therapeutically informed space where you can explore your inner experience with curiosity, care, and support.

There are things we come to understand through talking. And there are things we come to know by feeling.
